PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY


THE WORKSHOP

This 1-day hands-on workshop will take you to the next of level of digital photography.

You will learn advanced exposure control, studio and location lighting and subject posing. There will be a discussion and demonstration on the use of RAW vs. JPG exposure; the ultimate control possible for exposure, white balance, brightness, contrast, clarity, sharpness and nondestructive editing using PhotoShop Lightroom.

  • F/stop and shutter speed selection with manual mode
  • Use a flash meter to set light intensity
  • Exposure target use for color control in post processing
  • Outdoor exposure control

The Working Studio: Lighting and Posing
  • Lighting with main, fill, background and hair lights
  • Umbrella vs. softbox
  • Background selection
  • How to make a white background white
  • Using reflectors and light modifiers
  • Using window light
  • Posing

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn portrait lighting and posing techniques. The workshop is limited to 8 students. Each student must have a DSLR camera and lens to use during the workshop.
